Information about Counselling, Coaching, and Mentor Coaching.
As a counsellor, I help people identify and cultivate the changes they seek.
My approach is Experiential. This means using neuroscience to support our work, having a clear therapeutic focus, aiming to solve the issue at its root, using mindfulness for self-exploration (versus self-regulation), and protecting safety as we go. Each person is as unique as a fingerprint and has innate wisdom and expertise. I am sensitive to the ways systems (internal and external) shape how we see ourselves and how we show up in the world. |
Working together, and working with the brain, I aim to help you increase your curiousity, self-understanding, skillfulness, and self-trust. The benefits of these show up in your relationship to yourself and others.
I am trauma-informed and client-centered. The frameworks that influence my Experiential and integrative approach are Interpersonal Neurobiology, Coherence Therapy, Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems, Parts Work, boundary work, and Non-Violent Communication. I have successfully completed Level One of Self-Trust and Integrated Resilience, or STAIR Certification Training. As a coach, I help people set and achieve personal and professional goals. This often includes defining values, exploring how these align with objectives and resources, and developing a concrete plan to help people get where they want to go. How are coaching and counselling different? Coaches know that the past influences the here and now, but coaching focuses on the present and future. If a client wants to make meaning of difficult history, or if mental health is getting in the way of day-to-day functioning, a pivot to counselling will be recommended. |
As a Mentor Coach I serve coaches seeking an ACC or PCC credential through the ICF.
I can also help anyone who wants to hone their coaching skills to use in a variety of personal or professional contexts. Working together, we will identify specific areas of desired growth and development toward demonstrating the ICF's Core Competencies. My mentorship style is kind, down-to-earth, and jargon-free. |
